On 1 December 2009, Choice Ireland appeared before the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Health and Children to present the results of its investigation into rogue crisis pregnancy agencies operating in Ireland, and to call on the government to regulate the activities of these groups. Choice Ireland members Sinéad Ahern and Maura Lane represented the group at the hearing, which heard details of the tactics used by these agencies to prevent women gaining access to the crisis pregnancy support services they need. UCD’s Literary & Historical Society held its annual “Abortion Debate” on 7 Oct. 2009. Among those making the case for the proposition that abortion be legalized in Ireland were Sinéad Ahern of Choice Ireland and Dr. Geraldine Moane, a senior lecturer in psychology at UCD.
Choice Ireland and other concerned groups and individuals gathered for a month of action against the "Women's Resource Centre" at 50 Upper Dorset Street in Dublin to protest the lying and manipulation of people experiencing crisis pregnancies.
